(Washington, DC) – The District of Columbia government offices will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22, 2018 and Friday, November 23, 2018. Below is information regarding critical, on-going District operations for these days.
The DC Department of Public Works (DPW) will suspend sanitation services on Thursday, November 22, and will resume services on Friday, November 23. Parking enforcement will be suspended on both Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23. Other DPW service changes include:
All DC Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) locations will be closed on Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23. Regular business hours will resume on Saturday, November 24. All scheduled ticket hearings, road test appointments, and inspection appointments on Friday, November 23 will be rescheduled and customers will be notified by either mail or email.
The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) has made the following service changes listed below:
Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) centers and indoor aquatic facilities will be closed on Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23. Facilities will reopen on Saturday, November 24.
All DC Public Library (DCPL) locations will be closed on Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23 and will reopen on Saturday, November 24.
The Department of Human Services (DHS) has made the following service changes regarding shelters:
