(Washington, DC) – On Monday, February 24, at 12 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser and DC Police Chief Peter Newsham will be joined by Police Cadets for a conversation to discuss the importance of expanding the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD)’s Cadet Corp Program.
The Cadet Corp Program gives DC high school graduates a scholarship to the University of the District of Columbia and a part-time job while they attain 60 college credits in order to enter the police academy. MPD currently has 107 Police Cadets.
