The District’s reported data for Sunday, September 20, 2020 includes 23 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 14,978.
The District reported one additional COVID-19 related death.
Tragically, 621 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.

Today, the District began publishing an updated Reopening Metrics page with the following criteria and corresponding metrics. Each metric measures key factors related to the extent of COVID-19 transmission in the District and the collective capacity to contain the spread of the virus. Once the District reaches outlined thresholds for a sustained period of time, the District may move into new phases to gradually lift restrictions.
