Southeast Library Reopening

The Southeast Library, a historic Carnegie landmark, has undergone a transformative modernization. This renovation preserves and restores the building’s historic character while vastly expanding the amount of usable space and introducing modern elements. The library will reopen Thursday, September 10. 

Major enhancements include:

  • Expanded space for children, teens and adults 
  • More space for books and computers  
  • Variety of seating   
  • A new universally accessible entrance (as well as maintaining the original historic entrance) 
  • Restored landscaping 
  • Environmentally responsive design 
  • Improved sight lines 
  • More meeting, collaboration and study space
